Alright, getting the packing done here in Ithaca to prepare and jet set down to Freeport.
The plan is to head home with mom this afternoon, then spend a few hours on Dan's couch in preparation for our 3 AM departure. Yea, 3 AM. Awesome.
I'm excited to use this blog to give you all a better idea of what we are doing down in the Bahamas for the next week. My one concern is that all of this Tweeting and blogging won't work, which, let's be honest, would suck a little bit. So here's to high hopes.
If you don't know me, hey! I'm Rob. I'm prepping for my junior year up here at Ithaca College and taking my 5th trip down to the Bahamas this summer. It's been a treat to have experienced this journey from the beginning, and every year fewer people can say they've been through it all. The most amazing thing to me is how I keep accidentally ending up on this trip.
You see, I tried to stop going two years ago. But last summer, I got a call from Dan about someone dropping out late in the game. He said it was paid for, and he wanted a veteran to go. Naturally, I was in.
As the trip ended and we returned to Philadelphia last summer, I told Dan, "No way in hell this happens again next year". Of course, here I am again. So we see how lucky (or unlucky) I continue to be.
Over the course of the trip we hope to post to multiple different websites, including Twitter, YouTube and this blog. The nice thing about technology is that if we post something to one site we can usually put a link to it from the others, but just in case, here is a master list of sites you are going to want to be following this week...
Twitter: My account, and Dan's.
YouTube: My video page.
And this blog right here.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy a week without your sibling, friend, child or spouse. And take pleasure in the fact that they're getting sunburned on a roof somewhere on Grand Bahama Island.
Next post: Possibly tonight with the Dan Man himself.
