I’m writing this at night, but it won’t be up until morning, so I guess I will just say yesterday instead of today for this post. But bear with me, because it is still today.
Yesterday (today) was a really good day. Everyone hunkered down and busted their backs in the heat and rain and bugs to get done the most work we have all week. I don’t want to ruin the surprise of what we did, but if I said it took us a day and a half to clean out a trash pile that after today has 9 or so lovely gardens inside of it, would you believe me?
Would you believe that in three days we have built 20-22 gardens (I forget), fixed a roof and a drywall ceiling, scraped six houses, primed them, and painted 2? Pretty cool right? (Those numbers might be a little off; my memory fades at this time of night, as does my typing apparently. Thank God for Spell Check.)
Everyone should be immensely proud of their kids and family and friends and what they have accomplished thus far. (That’s Dan’s input for the day. Mr. Supreme Leader is too lazy to actually assist in the blog writing.)
We did also go to church tonight… err… last night. It was a good time. We got to worship with another mission team from Louisiana and a small congregation that really knew how to throw a rocking party. Would you believe the LA team was here the same week as us last summer too? Small world.
So I will leave the blog here for now. The worst injuries this week have been bug bites, so no worries there. The team sends their best, to each and every one of you. When we get home, be sure to let them know how well they did. It isn’t easy for anyone, let alone a high schooler, to step out of their comfort zone and totally put their faith in others and in God. So kudos to everyone for raising such awesome kids. (Except you, mom, you are on my list. Leaving for the Dominican Republic for your own mission trip while I’m still here? How selfish of you!)
Kidding aside, this team rocks.
Back later today with updates. Send your love to the team; we are going to read all of the comments to them on Friday night at our closing ceremony. (Or is it tomorrow night? Oy.)
Enjoy your day, your home, and your family.
UPDATE: I know the FaceBook video isn't doing working too effectively so Dan and I will try YouTube again in a minute... in fact, here he is.
EDIT: New YouTube video is processing... HERE!

Wow, you guys look tired. So proud of the work you are doing. God has his fingerprints all over you and the team and this blog! Technology is wonderful. It really warms my heart to see my wonderful husband on the computer every day, reminding me of how much he loves us! I know I am lucky to have that opportunity. As an aside, Jeffrey is not a fan, he does not understand why he can't talk to Daddy in person. So he can watch it when you get home honey. Keep up the amazing work, rest will await all of you when you get home! No resting now!
Love,
Kami
Supreme Leader and Tonto,
Great Blogs and God is truly giving you all strength and power.
You sure look tired and I guess you will sleep for a week when you get home.
May you all feel God's strength and complete all the projects that you set out to do.
Come home safe and secure in God's blessings and love.
Peace....Peggy Wilson
